Story
Hello, it's been a while. I am back today with something exciting. This photo set features both a new film and MOST importantly, a new camera. But first, let's dive into the story around this set.
In 2026 Toronto played host to the FIFA tournament, I am not much into soccer, so I will not speak much too about it, but it does set the backdrop for our set. Large tournament = large excitement in the city. It was well worth the trip to experience the commotion.

The Camera
The Nikon L35 is a special camera for both Nikon and myself. It marked Nikon's entry into the world of autofocus and it marked my entry into the world of point-and-shoot. UNLESS you count the Olympus Pen, but that camera is such a chore to use I would count it far from point-and-shoot.
This specific model is the AD2 variant. The original just being AF. F for auto focus, D for DATA. As seen in the second photo below. (THIS CAMERA is from EBAY japan) This version featured a device to burn the date and possibly other information into the images. I did not bother Google translating the back, as this is a feature I never plan to use.
Its a solid brick of a camera with a strong 1980s aesthetic.

The Stock
Delta 100 is a professional-grade B/W film made in England. I was highly impressed with the exposure latitude on these images. The examples below, all featuring the CN Tower from various positions, are a great example of this wide dynamic range in action. DETAILED clouds and detailed shadows. The digital photographer reading this might cry.
The only other B/W film I have shot is also an Ilford. The iconic HP5. I have never shot that at box speed; it's always pushed a few stops, so that MIGHT be damaging its dynamic range. But compared to HP5 pushed 2 stops, Delta 100 is the clear winner.
